San Francisco’s Maritime National Historical Park is an amazing place to visit if you’re interested in knowing more about the history of the beautiful San Francisco Bay. This historical park contains the Maritime Museum, the Maritime Research Center, the Aquatic Park historic district, and many historical sea vessels. A trip to this park is certain to be an exciting and educational experience, full of many events and opportunities.

About San Francisco’s Maritime National Historical Park

Some of the highlights of San Francisco’s Maritime National Historical Park are the amazing amount of activities and events that occur within the park. The Visitor’s Center is a great place to stop by and get a greater understanding of all of the facilities in the park, and what they have to offer. The Hyde Street Pier provides a fantastic view of the historical sea vessels within the park and the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Maritime Museum provides an excellent history of the San Francisco area. Many come to San Francisco’s Maritime National Historical Park to get a glimpse of the Aquatic Park Cove, which can provide a gorgeous view of San Francisco Bay. Many guided tours of the area are offered by the park and are certainly worth the time to take.

There are many events held within San Francisco’s Maritime National Historical Park. Some of these events include the National Historical Landmark Ship Tour, the Historic Waterfront Walking Tour, and Sailing the West Coast: C.A. Thayer. The National Historical Landmark Ship Tour is a tour guided by a National Park Ranger aboard one of the sea vessels in the park, and the Historic Waterfront Walking tour is an hour long trek exposing you to the history and beauty of the San Francisco Bay that is also led by a Park Ranger. The Sailing the West Coast: C.A. Thayer event is a tour of a wooden sailing vessel and the history behind this specific ship. Located at the edge of San Francisco Bay in Fisherman’s Wharf, the hours of operation of the Visitor’s Center of San Francisco’s Maritime National Historical Park are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the Maritime Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission for an Individual Entry is $10, which lasts 10 days. An annual pass is $50 per person. Children ages 15 years and younger are permitted onto ships within San Francisco’s Maritime National Historical Park for free under the supervision of an adult.
